I might not eat them as much as I used to, but I am still almost always down for a burger.  A big, juicy, dripping good mess of a burger.
Why don't we make them more at home? Everyone thinks you need to go out to get a good burger.  Come on! Get in the kitchen and make yourself drool while fixin' that baby up.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 3 large portobello mushroom caps
  • 1 tsp tonys cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic
  • Burger mix
    • I use 3 tsp per pound of ground beef. (Emerils Recipe)

    • 2 1⁄2tablespoons paprika
    • 2 tablespoons salt
    • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
    • 1 tablespoon onion powder
    • 2 teaspoons black pepper
    • 2 teaspoons ground mustard
    • 1 teaspoon cayenne
  • Cooked bacon (Optional)

Directions:

  • Makes 6-8 burgers depending on size
  • Mix burger mix into ground beef
  • Form burger patties to desired size
  • Heat up heavy bottom skillet to fry the patties in- I use cast iron
  • Cook on each side, flipping half way through
  • After all patties are removed place portobello mushrooms in the hot oil
  • Season with the tony's and garlic powder
  • Cook until tender
  • Make burger
  • Bottom bun
  • Mayonnaise
  • Burger patty
  • Mushrooms
  • Swiss
  • Bacon
  • Top bun

Enjoy!
