mushroom swiss bacon burger
I might not eat them as much as I used to, but I am still almost always down for a burger. A big, juicy, dripping good mess of a burger.
Why don't we make them more at home? Everyone thinks you need to go out to get a good burger. Come on! Get in the kitchen and make yourself drool while fixin' that baby up.
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 3 large portobello mushroom caps
- 1 tsp tonys cajun seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic
- Burger mix
I use 3 tsp per pound of ground beef. (Emerils Recipe)
- 2 1⁄2tablespoons paprika
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons black pepper
- 2 teaspoons ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon cayenne
- Cooked bacon (Optional)
Directions:
- Makes 6-8 burgers depending on size
- Mix burger mix into ground beef
- Form burger patties to desired size
- Heat up heavy bottom skillet to fry the patties in- I use cast iron
- Cook on each side, flipping half way through
- After all patties are removed place portobello mushrooms in the hot oil
- Season with the tony's and garlic powder
- Cook until tender
- Make burger
- Bottom bun
- Mayonnaise
- Burger patty
- Mushrooms
- Swiss
- Bacon
- Top bun
