southern summer salad

This is such a simple treat that is commonly made in the South during hot summer months.
My mom would make it with fruit cocktail, but this is the perfect opportunity to take the fresh fruit of summer and enjoy it!
Ingredients:
1 cup sour cream
2 cups chopped pineapple (I like to keep a little juice that they make from cutting)
1 cup shredded sweetened coconut
1 cup mandarin orange segments (drained) OR if you can get satsumas, use them!
1 cup halved cherries (make sure they are sweet and not tart)
Optional:
grapes
pears
apples
strawberries
peaches
