bacon broccoli bowties
Bacon. Yum.
Broccoli. Yum.
Pasta. Double dang yum.
I love to make any type of pasta! How can you go wrong when you're adding bacon? I don't think you can. My kids devour this when I make it. Heck, we all do. It's got the bacon flavor, fresh broccoli, and creamy goodness with the right amount of spice!
Ingredients:
- 6 cups cooked pasta bowties (about 1/2 lb)
- 2 large slabs of bacon (mine were thick and long, if you get regular bacon, you may need to use about 4-5 pieces)
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 1 stick butter
- 4 cups sliced mushrooms
- 4 tsp slap ya mama seasoning
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 and 1/3 cup shredded parmesan cheese
Directions:
- Boil pasta and set it aside
- Place the bacon in a pan and start cooking it
- Cook on medium/medium-high so you will render the fat
- After each side is browned, remove from the pan, chop it and set it aside
- Add the broccoli to the pan and pour in the chicken broth
- Place a lid on top so your broccoli will start to soften
- Once it is softened to your liking, add the butter
- Add mushrooms
- Add 2 tsp of the slap ya mama seasoning
- Let mushrooms simmer down until softened
- Add heavy whipping cream and bring to a boil
- Keep stirring
- Add pasta while it is still boiling and allow it to simmer with the cream for about 5 minutes, keep stirring
- Turn off heat and add cheese
- Stir around to mix well
- Serve!
