Garlic sauteed shrimp
This is about one of the easiest recipes to make. Whenever you are in a crunch for getting dinner ready, shrimp is your answer! We eat a good bit of shrimp around here. Not only because it is usually abundant, but also my son is allergic to many different things, and shrimp is on our safe list, thankfully!
This calls for a ton of garlic, but I promise it is worth it!
Ingredients:
2 pounds of shrimp
2 sticks of butter
1 tsp red pepper flakes
2 tsp slap ya mama cajun seasoning
1 tablespoon parsley
1/2 tablespoon basil
1/2 tablespoon lemon pepper
1/2-1 lemon (I usually do one)
10 cloves of garlic
Melt 1/2 stick of butter in your pan, on medium heat. Add your garlic and cook for a few seconds.
Add the shrimp along with all of the seasonings. Cook until the shrimp are all pink and done, then squeeze the lemon ontop!
Cube up the rest of the butter and turn your heat off. Mix it around until it melts. Cutting the butter into cubes is important, and so is taking your pan off the heat. It will help the butter stay creamy instead of turning more oily.
Always be sure to test your seasonings. This is my always kid safe recipe, for my husband and myself I always add more spice! If you are watching your salt intake, you can use slap ya mama's low sodium blend. Use cayenne if you're trying to avoid adding any salt to the dish.
Serve with french bread, soak up all the juices and enjoy the flavors!
