mama’s grilled shrimp
I love shrimp. I shit you not, I could eat it every single day. If I was in prison on death row, it would be my last meal. You get the drift? Okay!
So one thing I have been trying this year is learning how to grill better. I really have been intimidated by gas. It scares me.
It all started this one time…
My brother came over and we were going to grill together. It was going to be such fun, y’all! We turned on the gas and it started hissing at us and he ran all the way behind the workshop at my house (about 40 feet away from the pitt) and left me running behind my car (about 10 feet away). I was so scared and neither one of us wanted to come out from what we were hiding behind. Now, the best part of this is I was pregnant at the time. So I started crying and told him he had to do it because I couldn’t die. HAHAHAHA! Well, it worked and he finally figured out which way was right and he turned off the gas.
We didn’t grill that day.
In fact, we’ve never grilled together now.
Anyways! These shrimp are flavorful, easy and done in 10 minutes. Make it!
Ingredients:
1 pound peeled and deveined shrimp
1 tbsp slap ya mama original seasoning
1 tbsp parsley
1/2 tbsp garlic powder
1/2 tbsp paprika
1/2 tsp thyme
Juice from one lemon
1/4 cup high heat oil
Directions:
Mix all seasonings in a bowl
Add lemon juice and oil
Place shrimp in and toss them around
Allow shrimp to sit about 10 minutes
Grill on a grill safe mat (I love these because it helps keep them juicy)
If you do not have a mat, please oil your grill so the shrimp won’t stick
