brown sugar crusted ham
Ham... I love it. I grew up with a lot of ham. A lot of pork in general really. My dad was the pork man. He would always fry up pork chops, rotisserie a pork loin or bake a ham. It never needed to be a holiday for ham in our house.
I've tried to cook ham many times. It just never came out like my daddy's. It would always be dry or I'd have to cut it and soak it in the juice so it would have that flavor, it just wasn't there.
Now, I've got it down. This is based off of Trisha Yearwoods recipe. I just added the pineapple and cherries, because, well, my dad always had that! This was so juicy and that skin, it had the sugar crusted on there so nicely. I've never liked the pieces with the skin on it before. Any part of this ham is fabulous!
