Grilled Flank steak with sweet and spicy chimichurri sauce
Oh I love Brazilian food. You know those Brazilian steakhouses? Oh yes, they are amazing. I don't have a huge fire set up where I can cook my food like that, but I can recreate some sauces to go with my meat! Here I decided to put a little twist on the traditional chimichurri sauce and make it a bit sweeter. You can bump the heat up if you'd like!
Ingredients:
Rub for Flank Steak:
- 3 heaping teaspoons of tony's cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp Chili
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1 tsp ground oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Directions:
- Mix spices together and rub all of your meat
- Let rest for about 25 minutes and then grill to desired doneness is reached
Chimichurri Sauce:
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp lime juice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4-1/2 cup red onion (due to strength of onion, for this recipe I used slightly under 1/2 cup onion for a mild tasting onion)
- 1/4 cup packed chopped cilantro
- 1/2 cup packed chopped parsley
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- Blend all together and serve over sliced steak
