bread and butter pudding
So, I often talk about how I love Instagram. I love it because you get to travel the world through other people! I have a friend over in London who has tried a few of my recipes, so I thought it’d only be fair if I would try a British recipe! I asked what their favorite dessert was, and this is one of them that seemed easiest for me to make with what ingredients I had at home.
I changed it up a wee bit, but hopefully I still made the British proud! :)
Egg mixture:
3 eggs
1.5 cup milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup dry cherries
3 tbsp melted butter
15-18 slices of bread
1 jar of orange marmalade
11x13 baking dish
Directions:
Heat oven to 350
In a large bowl beat the eggs and add the milk, heavy cream, sugar cinnamon, and vanilla
Cut your bread slices in half diagonal
Lightly spread the marmalade on each side of the bread
Repeat and lay it out in the baking dish, overlapping just slightly
Melt the butter and brush it along the tops of the bread
Pour egg mixture on top
Bake for 35 minutes or until done
