Pear Crumble Bars
I've talked on a couple of recipe posts how my kids and I are allergic to apples. It really stinks because, well, apples are good and they make for good desserts! I have found that using pears in place of apples taste just as great!
Ingredients:
Crust:
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 1 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup crushed pecans
- 1/4 tsp salt
Filling:
- 4-15oz cans of diced pears (about 4 cups)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Crumble topping:
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup crushed pecans
Directions:
- Heat oven to 350
- Spray a 9x9 baking dish with cooking spray
- Prepare the crust:
- Mix with a hand or stand mixer
- Add all the ingredients and mix well
- Pour into baking pan and press it down evenly
- Bake for 15-20 minutes
- Prepare the filling
- In a medium sauce pan pour all ingredients in and heat to medium-high
- Cook it down until it is thick
- Make the topping:
- Using a stand or hand mixer cream the butter and sugar
- Add the flour, pecans, salt and mix
- Pour the pear mixture on top of the cooked crust
- Pour the crumble and spread evenly on top
- Cook for 22-25 minutes on 350
- These taste amazing with ice cream!!
